Couloir Eugster, Aiguille du Midi | Three alpinists rescued after a fall of 600 meters.
Late Sunday morning three alpinists fell 600 metres down a couloir on the north face of the Aiguille du Midi.
The couloir in question was the famous Eugster that was first climbed back in 1964. The climb itself is a vertical 1000 metre wall, which means the fall took them over half the way down the cliff face!
Unbelievably they survived this HUGE fall!
Not only did they survive, they got away with only minor injuries. One of the group was airlifted to Annecy whilst the other two were taken to Sallanches hospital.
Get well soon guys!
