Let Tour Chamonix

Whilst skiing with a group of six people on the Glacier du Tour (Col du Passon (3,028m), a forty five year old Korean man suffered a cardiac arrest.

07.50am 10/04: The Chamonix PGHM MOUNTAIN RESCUE SERVICE receives the alert:

The Chamonix PGHM plus a doctor from Mont Blanc Hospital fired up the rescue helicopter, but sadly the man was declared dead at the scene. The skier’s body was transported to the PGHM Helicopter Rescue Pad in Les Bois.

Handy number to have when heading into the mountains:

0450531689 ( Direct Line To The PGHM Chamonix)

Remember to always have a clear itinerary, and know your location at all times.

The Chamonix App is great at helping out at times of need, the Chamonix App has a SOS button that locates your grid coordinates and sends them directly to the rescue services.  This saves a lot of time and helps out if theres any language issues.
