November 16, 2015 an employee of the Compagnie du Mont Blanc died whilst working on the gondola lift of the Domaine de la Balme, after a fall of about 4 meters.
This week the Compagnie du Mont Blanc was sentenced to a fine of 50,000 euros for manslaughter in the work place, then ordered to pay two fines of 25,000 euros for each of the two daughters of the deceased employee. Plus 10,000 euros for the suffering endured, as well as 2,500 euros under Article 475.1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
