Not known to most but Team Planet Chx enjoys the odd bit of fishing!
To say the least fishing in the Chamonix valley is highly under rated, there are many babbling brooks to raging torrents of trout heaven. Their are dozens of high altitude alpine lakes that lead down to the valley floor. The main species you’ll encounter on any-given outing are Wild Brown trout, Wild(ish) Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout Stocked, Arctic Char, Perch and some secret Wild Carp! Be warned some of the creeks can be tricky to get into so a rope is a good tool to have up high. Their might even be a chance to be in the record books as the biggest French Trout to be caught was in the Arve, now agreed not next to the post office but their have been some 60cm plus out of the Chamonix river…
