New Gondola Coming Soon…Shhh Its a Secret!

Flégère Gondola to be installed… be the first to know!

Interesting news coming in from one of Team Planets undercover sources.  The winter of 2019/2020 will bring some much awaited joy to the Chamonix community.  Have you ever been slightly held up on a frosty February morning…  Only to be greeted by a queue that would look more at home outside an Apple Store the day of a new Iphone launch?!

Well there is light at the end of the tunnel my friends, the new Gondola will be of similar standing as the current Plan Joran at the Grands Montets.  This means 6 meters a second and up to 3000 people per hour as opposed to 300.  Now i know some of you die hards out there do not welcome this new Gondola as it means less turns on a powder day, but we believe that the Flegere will only benefit from this as it gets all the ski schools up quickly.

The Gondola will boast a very modern design and much closer to the river with possible underground parking.  Plus there will be substantial work carried out on the home run down to Les Praz, this includes widening of the current ski trail to allow for the sandy rock falls that makes piste bashing so difficult here.  Plans to put a series of snow canons in has also been discussed, we believe with good winter temperatures this should be an epic transformation.
