A Trendy Bar/Restaurant With Altitude!

Its difficult to imagine hot summer days right now what with our current ice age!  But alas do not fear in only a few months the green luscious pastures of La Flegere will be back in action.  The construction of new pylon bases and foundations for the top station will start as soon as the snow melts.  As we all know Flegere’s nemesis is the wind, so in order to combat this extra pylons will be added one in the golf coarse and one just after on the “Gung Ho Final Straight”  The widening of the piste this year will enable the trucks and machinery to gain access a lot easier with less disruption to most of our hiking trials.  The reason for the top foundation is that the current station will under go a huge refurb with a large investment into its Bar/Restaurant facility’s, there are also talks of using some of the left over space to create a boutique Hotel.  The new lift will be just to the right of the current station close to the Refuge de la Flegere.

There will be some big changes in the Chamonix Valley this year as it marks the end of the SERAC’s current contract with the Compagnie du Mont Blanc.  Planet Chamonix’s inside sources have reported that SERAC are going to keep a number of restaurants across the Valley most likely the mid stations of the Grands Montets & Le Tour.  Thus it will now be easier for lots of different concepts & private ventures to start putting together plans for some epic projects,  the most awaited being the old Index Chairlift station which has been left gathering dust for a long time now.  Plans have been in place for some years now to create a trendy bar/restaurant on this famous site that could host some great events, plus backed up with a fantastic party ambiance.

All this put together will make La Flegere THE place to be in the Chamonix Valley!
