Safety Equipment STOLEN!

An unbelievable act of vandalism shocks the Chamonix community, the ladder carabiners that secure people up & down the Mer de Glace have been stolen!

Yesterday at 10am La Chamoniarde posted this sad news:

Les mousquetons permettant de s’assurer dans les échelles pour rejoindre la Mer de Glace ont été volés….

[ VANDALISM LADDERS OF MONTENVERS]
Carabiners used for belaying down the ladders to the Mer de Glace have been stolen….

Extreme caution is being advised if tackling the steep ladders.

New carabiners will be installed as quickly as possible.
