At 28 years old Matthieu Craff was no stranger to trail running, but the Mont Blanc as we’ve seen in past weeks is a mountain to be respected and not taken lightly. Whilst running down from the summit, Matthieu took a 300 meter slide at 4500 meters which resulted in his death. He had absolutely no safety equipment on, not even crampons to steady himself on the icy ridge. This will inevitably force the Mayor’s hand into taking some drastic actions after last week’s press release.
