Wednesday & Thursday were non stop days for our brave Chamonix rescuers.
- Wednesday, 1st Call Out.
Early morning phone call from a 37 year old man with injuries to his hand after a rock fall, he was airlifted to Sallanches Hospital.
- Wednesday, 2nd Call Out.
A 60 year old man was rushed to Hospital after suffering a heart attack on the Col de Rochefort.
- Wednesday, 3rd Call Out.
A 40 year old Dutch mountaineer was airlifted to Hospital after he suffered minor injuries on the Dome du Gouter.
- Wednesday, 4th Call Out.
A 18 year old Norwegian Man was taken to Chamonix Hospital after suffering from exhaustion at the Goûter refuge.
- Wednesday, 5th Call Out.
A 23 year old Irishman was airlifted to Chamonix Hospital after being injured in the Grands Charmoz.
- Wednesday, 6th Call Out.
Later in the afternoon, two Austrians both around 33 years old were rescued because they encountered difficulties in climbing on Aiguille du Diable, they were dropped off at the DZ in Les Bois.
- Thursday at the crack of dawn.
3 climbers found themselves trapped on the l’éperon Walker (Grandes Jorasses) After the nights thunderstorms kept them pinned down, all climbers were bought back to the Dz in Les Bois.
- Thursday 2nd Call Out.
The most important call out of the day happened towards the end of the morning, a man suffered a heavy fall on the Col des Crochues. Seriously injured the man was first taken to Sallanches Hospital, but with his condition worsening the decision was taken to take the man to the larger Annecy Hospital.
- Thursday 3rd Call Out.
Later in the afternoon a 70 year old woman slipped and fell on snowy ground, with only minor injuries she was airlifted to Sallanches Hospital.
- Thursday 4th Call Out.
Brévent a climber fell causing him a traumatic head injury, he was taken to Sallanches Hospital.
- Thursday 5th Call Out.
A hiker took a small fall which resulted in minor injuries, he was airlifted to Chamonix Hospital.
- Thursday 6th Call Out.
The last call out saw a group of climbers trapped by a thunderstorm on the Petit Dru, all climbers were hospitalised.
What a 48hrs for the brave Men & Women of the Chamonix PGHM, lets hope that today they will be able to take a breather at this busy time of year.
