Two commercial Air India flights crashed into the side of Mont Blanc, 1950 and 1966.
A French hiker that hunts for lost artefacts of the doomed Air India flights came across a grizzly find this week.
Whilst out on the Glacier des Bossons Daniel Roche came across a mummified hand and upper leg.
The remains were taken by the PGHM (Chamonix Mountain Rescue) to a local funeral parlor, to await instructions from the Haute Savoie Préfecture.
The PGHM believe that the remains are more likely than not from the Malabar Princess, the first aircraft to crash into the Mont Blanc.
“Its impossible to know how many bodies will start to exit the Glacier, and if the hand and leg come from the same person” Explained Lieutenant-Colonel Bozon of the PGHM.
